Area students from Buffalo Grove are doing amazing things at colleges and universities across the United States.

Jason Tamras Earns Second Place in Wisconsin Big Idea Tournament
Jason Tamras, from Buffalo Grove, who is majoring in marketing, competed in the Wisconsin Big Idea Tournament held virtually on May 20. Tamras and partner, George Soucek, both scholars in the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Launch Pad program, won second place with their presentation and business plan for Battery Savior. Their startup idea would make portable power more available and affordable for smartphone users. The Wisconsin Big Idea Tournament allows students to present their startup business ideas to a statewide audience of entrepreneurs, business leaders and the public. In addition to competing for seed funding and additional support to grow their ideas, the students receive mentorship and entrepreneurship training to help them launch their careers as well as their businesses.

Sarah Strezewski Named To Baldwin Wallace University Dean's List
Sarah Strezewski, of Buffalo Grove, a graduate of Adlai E. Stevenson High School majoring in voice performance, has been named to the Dean's List for the spring 2021 semester at Baldwin Wallace University, according to Provost Stephen D. Stahl. Any full-time student who achieves a GPA of at least 3.6 for 12 or more graded hours or part-time student who achieves a GPA of at least 3.6 for six or more graded hours in the fall or spring semester will be placed on the Dean's List.

Daniel Saltz Named to DePauw University's Spring 2021 Dean's List
Daniel Saltz, from Buffalo Grove, has been named to DePauw University's Spring 2021 Dean's List.
The Dean's List recognizes students who achieve a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Congratulations on this well-earned achievement!
