Someone is accused of stealing eggs from a mallard's nest, destroying the nest and scaring nearby ducks according to Buffalo Grove police.

DRIVING WITH A SUSPENDED/REVOKED LICENSE

  • Yashkumar R. Patel, 25, who lives along IL Route 83, in Mundelein, is accused of driving with a revoked or suspended license and speeding. He was arrested at 12:06 a.m. on April 24. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 21.
  • Jose Gerardo Tellez Mendoza, is accused of driving with a suspended or revoked license and for illegally using their phone while driving. He was arrested at 9:35 p.m. on April 25. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 21.

DRIVING WITH NO DRIVER’S LICENSE

  • Rosa Herrera, 29, Manda Lane, Wheeling, is accused of driving with no valid driver’s license or with a revoked permit and running a red light. She is scheduled to appear in court on May 14.

INCIDENTS

BURGLARY

  • A resident in the 100 block of Fox Hill Drive returned home from a walk at 2:17 p.m. on April 29 to find the door to his house open. Once inside, he found belongings on the floor and cabinets open. The resident reported missing jewelry and other items, which was valued at more than $3,000.

ANIMAL COMPLAINT

  • A resident in the 0-100 block of Villa Verde Drive, reported that someone removed eggs from a nearby mallard’s nest, destroyed the nest and chased away the nearby ducks at 12:35 a.m. on April 26. A possible suspect denied any involvement.

VANDALISM

  • A resident in the 2000 block of Silver Linden Lake called police at 4 p.m. on April 24 to report someone threw a black liquid inside of his new gate fence.

POSSESSION OF CANNABIS

  • Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 500 block of Thornwood Drive at 11:53 p.m. on April 24. In addition to the driver being cited for speeding, both the driver and passenger were issued citations for the possession of cannabis, less than 10 grams.
  • An officer located an occupied vehicle parked on a local resident street at 12:38 a.m. on April 26. He made contact with the people inside the car and gave one of the passengers a citation to the passenger for possession of cannabis, which was more than 10 grams but less than 30.
  • An officer conducted a traffic stop at Lake Boulevard and West Dundee Road at 2:04 a.m. on April 27 and issued the driver a citation for speeding and for the possession of cannabis, less than 10 grams.
