Twenty-Nineteen has become the year of stand-up comedy at the Buffalo Grove Community Arts Center, once the Buffalo Grove Park District’s Big Deal Productions teamed up with Funnier By The Lake Comedy and BestCorporateComedy.com to produce the ongoing series of live, stand-up comedy showcases called BiG LAUGHS.

The goal of BiG LAUGHS is to bring Chicago caliber lineups and headliners to the north suburbs, so comedy fans can experience the same show they’d find in the city, without the hassle and expense of traveling, parking, and returning to the suburbs. Judging by the reception of the first two shows, the idea is a hit with the community.

January kicked off with the Laughs for Mike fundraiser and comedy showcase, which attracted a nearly full house of audience for a hysterical lineup of professional Chicago comedians. A second show in June headlined Chicago’s own Mike Toomey, a staple on WGN News and club stages throughout the Chicago area.
