Ex-Bear Invests $1.7M In Long Grove Home, Sells It For Half
According to realtor.com, the owners have invested $1.7 million in the house before selling it for $865,000.
LONG GROVE, IL — Former Chicago Bears tight end Martellus Bennett sold his Long Grove home last month for $865,000. Crain's Chicago Business reported that Bennett and his wife, Siggi Walker-Bennett, bought the house in 2013 for $1.2 million, according to the Lake County recorder of deeds.
Since then, the owners have invested $1.7 million in creating a "visual showpiece that you have to see to believe," realtor.com wrote. "Exquisitely appointed custom contemporary home that is nearly 6,000 square ft situated on 3 plus private acres!"
Bennett played in the NFL until announcing his retirement in 2018, and ending his NFL career with the New England Patriots. Bennett retired from the NFL to focus on his multimedia production company, The Imagination Agency.

The Bennett Family listed the four-bedroom, 5,900-square-foot home on Monitor Lane for $1.25 million, and according to realtor.com, it was on the market for 85 days until it sold.
