Firefighters Rescue Cat from Lake

Buffalo Grove police and firefighters responded after a resident's cat went for a swim.

Buffalo Grove firefighters were given an impromptu water rescue training Sept. 26 after a resident reported that his cat jumped into a lake.

Buffalo Grove police received a report at 3 p.m. Sept. 26 from a resident of the 200 block of Fox Hill, who said that his cat, which was inside a cage, escaped when the cage broke while the owner was carrying it from his car to his home.

The cat jumped into a lake behind the resident’s home and “swam to the nearby island,” police said.
