Golf Fundraiser Raises $200,000 For At-Risk Youth

The Boys & Girls Club of Lake County hosted their 15th Annual Golf Outing on July 31.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL - From the Boys and Girls Club of Lake County: Boys & Girls Club of Lake County (BGCLC) hosted their 15th Annual Golf Outing on Monday, July 31 at the Royal Melbourne Country Club in Long Grove (4700 Royal Melbourne Drive). The Golf Outing welcomed 150 guests and raised more than $200,000 benefitting after-school and summer programs serving more than 1,000 at-risk youth; with generous support from Title Sponsors Garrett Popcorn Shops, Frango, IDEX Corporation, and The Omtvedt Family Foundation.

“The Boys & Girls Club of Lake County Golf Outing is one of our most significant fundraisers,” says Donna Funk, Resource Development Director for the organization. “Funds raised at this event help provide the resources necessary to serve the youth in our community who need it most through positive and productive after-school and summer programs which help provide them with a path for a great future.”Players enjoyed an afternoon of golf, lunch courtesy of Beam Suntory, and on-course beverage options. Registered golfers received access to interactive games with great prizes like ball toss, squares, mulligans and gimme string. The Shotgun Start sounded at Noon on the picturesque 18-hole course, carved into the lush surroundings of wetlands, ponds, prairies and trees. After the eighteenth hole, guests were invited to enjoy a cocktail reception, dinner and program.
