Mike Toomey Headlines First BiG LAUGHS COMEDY on June 22
Buffalo Grove Park District BiG LAUGHS Comedy series kicks off with comedians Mike Toomey, Katie Meiners and BG native Jeremy Drazner.
Following on the heels of January’s successful Laughs For Mike comedy show, Buffalo Grove’s Big Deal Productions, BestCorporateComedy.com and Funnier By The Lake Comedy return to the newly renovated Buffalo Grove Performing Arts Center on June 22nd with more live stand-up comedy.
The showcase will be the first in a series of BiG LAUGHS COMEDY and blasts out of the gate with headliner, Chicago broadcaster and stand-up comedian, Mike Toomey.
Toomey is a regular on WGN-TV and has performed on HBO’s U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen Colorado; MTV’s Half Hour Comedy Hour; and A&E’s Comedy on the Road. Mike has been a favorite at comedy clubs and special events since 1982 and is sure to deliver his sharp, quick wit and hilarious observations.

Featuring with Toomey on June 22nd is the enormously talented and funny, Katie Meiners, a regular at Zanies in Rosemont and showcases across the Chicago area. Most recently, Katie performed on the exclusive Comedians You Should Know showcase in Chicago, and hosted the IFC Comedy Showcase at the Chicago Improv in Schaumburg, along with several of the city’s most sought after, up-and-coming comedians.

The June BiG LAUGHS COMEDY also includes a special guest performance by Buffalo Grove native and Chicago based comedian, Jeremy Drazner. Jeremy’s father, Richard Drazner, had been a long-time park commissioner up until his recent death this past April, a loss that had a great effect on the Buffalo Grove community.
“It’s great that we can include him in BiG LAUGHS Comedy. I know how special his family is to the community. I’ve watched Jeremy perform and he’s a welcome addition to the lineup,” says Funnier By The Lake’s Larry Bloom.
The upcoming comedy show is recommended for ages 18+ and will include a cash bar.
