BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.
Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

Sergio Valencia, 28, of the 29300 block of Route 83, Mundelein, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 1:27 a.m. June 11 at 1515 Lake Cook Road, Wheeling. She was assigned a court date of July 14.

Yuridana Trinidad-Bahena, 24, of the 100 block of Ridgemoor, Mundelein, is accused of driving with a suspended license, and was arrested at 3:32 a.m. June 11 in the 500 block of Cherbourg.
NO VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE
Guillermo Ferraro, 51, of the 7000 block of Addison, Chicago, is accused of driving with no valid driver's license, an expired registration, and was arrested at 5 p.m. June 12 in Deerfield.

INCIDENTS
THEFT
- A resident in the 1100 block of Windbrooke Drive reported at 10:30 a.m. June 8 a bicycle was stolen from their patio. No value for the bike was provided to police.
- A resident in the 1100 block of Windbrooke Drive called police at 7:59 a.m. June 9 to report a bicycle was stolen from their patio. The last time they saw it was during the evening of June 8. The bicycle had been previously bought for $79.
- A resident of the 1200 block of Johnson Drive reported at 7:30 p.m. June 14 someone had stolen the stock rims and tires from a 2019 Honda Civic. The person left the vehicle on top of landscape bricks. The vehicle owner was notified of the theft.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
A resident in the 300 block of Ronnie Drive reported at 12:10 a.m. June 9 that a male knocked on their service door. The resident exited the house and accompanied the male, who said he needed to do plumbing work in the area, to the backyard. While the resident was in the backyard, a second male entered the residence and was confronted by the resident's wife. The resident came back into the house to grab his phone and both males quickly vanished.
FIRE
Officers responded to a 911 call that a vehicle was on fire at 4:01 p.m. June 10 at U.S. Bank, 1 W Dundee Road. The responding officer saw flames coming from the engine compartment of the vehicle and used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire. The fire department confirmed the fire was out and the vehicle's owner called a tow company to remove the car.
IDENTITY THEFT
- An Easthaven Drive resident reported at 5:22 p.m. June 11 receiving a text message from 773-896-7308 claiming to be from the "Office of the Illinois Secretary of State" requesting personal information for a driver's license renewal. He clicked on the link in the text and entered his personal information to also include his social security number. He later determined the message was fraudulent.
- A Raupp Boulevard resident called police at 10:55 a.m. June 12 to report they discovered someone had a debit card for the resident's bank account mailed to an address in Texas. A $983 transaction was made with the card.
- A Toulon Drive resident reported at 8:27 p.m. June 13 someone filed an application with the Small Business Association for a COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loan with the complainant's information, including her social security number. It was canceled and referred to the attorney general's office.
- An Avalon Drive resident called police at 8:51 p.m. June 13 to report being tricked into giving up his personal information. He received a text message from 419-956-8635, ad followed an Internet link to a false Secretary of State webpage. After providing his information, he found a legitimate publication from the ILSOS notifying him this was a known scam.
- An Avalon Drive resident reported at 7:15 a.m. June 14 they received a text message stating, "IRS - You are qualified for the next round of pandemic relief payment of $1,480: claim here." The message had a hyperlink. She clicked on the hyperlink and began to input her personal information. She called her husband and daughter, and they advised her to close the link and not input any further information.
NEIGHBOR TROUBLE
Neighbors in the 2200 block of Avalon Drive argued over where a dog was being walked at 8:42 a.m. June 13. All parties agreed to not confront each other in the future.
