No Citations Issued in Route 83 Sideways-Semi Crash
The collision happened on June 19 in Long Grove.

LONG GROVE, IL — No citations were issued in a crash that closed down southbound Route 83 last month after a semi ended up sideways across the roadway, police said. The collision occurred June 19 when a Honda Sedan, driven by a 23-year-old Vernon Hills woman, was headed south on Route 83 made a left turn onto Westmoreland Drive in front of the northbound semi truck on. The semi collided with the Honda, lost control and crossed into the southbound lanes of traffic, Lake County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Christopher Covelli told Patch last month.
The crash snarled traffic that day after officials closed off southbound Route 83 and reduced northbound Route 83 to one lane as crews worked to get the semi out of traffic, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
No one was injured in the crash and no citations were issued, Covelli told Patch on June 21.
