LAKE COUNTY, IL — Authorities arrested three women after a police chase, crash and subsequent discovery of $2,500 worth of stolen merchandise in the group's stolen getaway vehicle, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office. Two Lake County Sheriff's Office deputies spotted the trio driving a Chevrolet Impala in Deer Park Friday evening and recognized them from law enforcement bulletins regarding retail thefts across the Chicago area, police said.

The Impala was reported stolen from Bloomington, Illinois, and deputies attempted to pull the vehicle over. The driver of the car, Jonva Vivetter, 18, of the 6500 block of South Morgan Street in Chicago, did not stop, continuing south on Route 12, police said. As the car approached Lake Cook Road it hit three vehicles and a sheriff's office squad car, according to the news release.
