President Biden To Visit Suburban Crystal Lake Next Week

CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. - President Joe Biden will visit the northwest suburb of Crystal Lake next Wednesday, according to White House senior associate communications director Matt Hill.

The trip will mark Biden's first visit to the state of Illinois as commander-in-chief.

While Hill did not provide specific details of the president's itinerary, the Chicago Sun-Times has reported that Biden will stop at McHenry County College. This trip will likely serve as a venue to promote either Biden's American Families Plan- a variety of bills to enhance family welfare- or his $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure plan.

Biden has been passing through a variety of Midwestern states in order to tout his infrastructure plan, including a visit to Traverse City, Michigan on Saturday.

The president's choice to visit with educators shouldn't come as much of a surprise. Biden ran on a platform of making higher education more affordable, and a portion of his American Families Plan would go towards making community colleges tuition-free.

First lady Jill Biden previously visited Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon this past April. A college professor herself, the first lady is also highly involved in educational programs.
