Stevenson Expects Record-Setting Give-A-Thon
Stevenson High School's annual holiday Give-A-Thon will benefit 280 local families, according to the school.

A record number of families will benefit from Stevenson High School’s Give-A-Thon this year. A total of 280 Lake County families in need will receive holiday gifts from Stevenson students, faculty and staff, far exceeding the goal of 200, according to the school’s Daily Digest.
Give-A-Thon is the largest school-wide community service project Stevenson sponsors each year. In addition to providing gifts to families, Give-A-Thon has two other goals: collecting enough food to stock the Vernon Township pantry for six months, and gathering enough diapers, baby formula and young motherhood items for Lake County PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) to meet its needs for half a year.
Stevenson’s National Honor Society chapter directs the Give-A-Thon campaign each year. Students are involved in eight different subcommittees that cover areas such as marketing and promotion to coordinating Give-A-Thon collection day on Dec. 3.
