Stevenson Sophomore Football Team Completes Undefeated Season

The Patriots' win over Warren last week put them at 9-0 and preserved an undefeated season.

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL — The Stevenson High School sophomore football team just completed an undefeated season, winning all nine of its games. The Patriots sealed their 9-0 record in 2017 with a 24-21 victory over Warren last Friday, the school wrote in a daily email digest this week.

The win over Warren was clinched by a 34-yard field goal from Trey Faunce that was set up by a 62-yard drive led by Justin Hiller and that included catches by Kenny Cacioppo, Mike Youkhanna and Rishik Kancharla. It was one of the rare close calls for Stevenson, whose defense under former NFL player Guy Boliaux as coordinator held opponents to an average of just 6.8 points per game in 2017.

In addition to the significance the victory had in preserving an undefeated season, it also marked the 200th career victory for sophomore coach Joey Weber.
