Store Owner Busted For Selling Fake Louis Vuitton Items: Police

The owner of Roksolana Inc. in Buffalo Grove faces felony charges for selling counterfeit items.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A 44-year-old woman accused of duping local customers and selling counterfeit items, which she passed off as high-end brands, such as Gucci and Louis Vuitton, has been arrested. Rokosolana Pulley, the owner of Roksolana Inc., at 400 W. Dundee Road in Buffalo Grove, faces felony counts for selling the counterfeit goods. She was arrested Thursday following a six-week investigation by the Buffalo Grove Police Department.

Local police first launched their investigation in May after receiving a call fromm the Department of Homeland Security. DHS told Buffalo Grove police officers representatives from Louis Vuitton had received an anonymous tip that a business in Buffalo Grove was illegally selling counterfeit items, which were being passed off as Louis Vuitton items, according to a news release from the Buffalo Grove Police Department.

Undercover police officers made two purchases at the store, and those items were verified as counterfeit through agents employed by Louis Vuitton, authorities said.

Once the items were verified as counterfeit, a search warrant was issued and served on Wednesday. During the search of the local business, Buffalo Grove officers seized more than 1,900 items with an estimated value of $38,000, authorities said.

The counterfeit items included purses, wallets, shoes and clothing identified with several high-end brand names, including Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel and Burberry.

A call made by Patch to Roksolana Inc. on Friday was not answered. A recorded voicemail message simply stated the person could not take your call right now and asked callers to leave a message.

Many followers to the Roksolana Inc. Facebook page praised the customer service at the store but at least one local shoppers pointed out the poor quality of the items being sold.

"Despite good appearance, quality is poor..." she wrote.

Pulley appeared in bond court Friday and received a personal recognizance bond. She is expected back in court on Aug. 29.
