Tobacco Store Burglarized; Landlord-Tenant Dispute: Blotter

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

INCIDENTS

THEFT

A Bristol Lane resident reported at 10:30 a.m. May 30 that she allowed someone she didn't know, whom she believed to be a technician from a computer company, remote access to her computer for several minutes. The complainant said she paid the person more than $200 after he told her she needed new antivirus software.

DISPUTE

• Police responded to the 0-100 block of Vila Verde Drive at 3:30 p.m. May 30 to a landlord and tenant dispute. The tenant, who will be moving out soon, and the landlord were in a disagreement on when the realtor can show the unit to potential new tenants.
• A person in the 500 block of Le Parc Circle called police at 3:56 p.m. May 30 to report she was in a verbal altercation with a driver, whom she believed was speeding down the residential street. The driver denied speeding and police informed the person to call 911 to report driving complaints.

BURGLARY

Police responded to an alarm call at 4:24 a.m. June 2 at Smokeys Tobacco Discount, 25 N Buffalo Grove Road, and contacted the business owner. The owner responded to the store and found that cash and merchandise, totaling more than $500, was missing.
