When Do Area Farmers Markets Open?
Some farmers markets have already opened for the summer season and others will open soon.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL – Summer is finally inching closer. And with warmer days ahead, most area farmers markets will be opening for the season, bringing with fresh produce, home-made goods, and much more. We've included a roundup below of area farmers markets worth checking out this summer.
Buffalo Grove Farmers Market
- When: The market traditionally operates from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Sunday from mid-June to mid-October.

Palatine Farmers Market
- When: The farmers market is open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday starting in May.
- Where: The Palatine Metra station parking lot, Smith and Wood streets

Arlington Heights Farmers Market
- When: The farmers market will run from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Saturday, starting on June 2.
- Where: The market is located in the commuter parking lot across from the Arlington Heights Historical Museum on Vail Ave. and Fremont St.
- What to expect: The bustling market will be full of fresh produce of the season, artisanal cheese, homemade pastries, freshly roasted coffee, handmade crafts, and much more.The Arlington Heights Farmers Market is an ever changing experience as new produce becomes available throughout the growing season and new events are planned throughout the year. Crystal Lake Farmers Market
- When: Starting on June 1, the farmers market will be open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Where: The farmers market will take place in Depot Park next to the downtown Metra train depot.
- What to expect: Shop for fresh produce, flowers, baked goods and more. There is plenty of free parking available nearby. A full list of vendors can be found here.
Woodstock Farmer's Market
- When: The summer farmers market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Tuesday and Saturday starting in May.
- Where: The Summer Market is located at the Historic Woodstock Square in Woodstock. The famed Woodstock Opera House is right across the street and makes for a great GPS search location to get to the market. The market is also just two blocks from the Woodstock Metra Station.
- What to expect: This farmer's market, which is open year-round, has vendors surrounding the historic Woodstock Square on all four sides as well as throughout the park in the center of the Square. The market is a producers-only market, meaning everything purchased is grown or produced directly by the vendor you are purchasing from. The market features live music every week. Cary's Farmer's Market
- When: The farmers market opens for the summer season on Sunday, June 2. The market is held every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Where: 100 West Main Street, Cary
- What to expect: Local vendors and produce.

Barrington Farmer's Market
- When: Open from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays starting on June 13 and continuing through Oct. 17.
- Where: Park Avenue and Cook Street

- When: The Lake Zurich Farmers Market opens for the summer season on June 1 and will be open every Friday from 3 to 7 p.m.

Libertyville Farmers Market
- When: The Libertyville Farmers Market opens on Thursday, May 30. The Libertyville market will run from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 30, June 6 and then will reopen again on June 20. The market will remain open every Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m., through Oct. 17.
