Your Guide to Strawberry Fest 2018 in Long Grove

The three-day festival in downtown Long Grove is dedicated to all things strawberries. There is also music, a Kids Zone and carnival.

LONG GROVE, IL –Long Grove's beloved Strawberry Fest will get underway Friday and continue through Sunday. And, just as the name suggests, the festival is dedicated to all things strawberry but also features a classic carnival, three stages of live music and a Kid Zone jam-packed with kids activities.

But, more about those strawberries ... Some of the area’s best restaurants and chefs will set up shop at this year's festival in downtown Long Grove to serve up unique strawberry-centric food and drink. This year, featured items include: strawberry BBQ sauces, deep fried strawberries on a stick, chocolate strawberry popcorn, strawberry kabobs, strawberry jams, strawberry fudge, funnel cakes with strawberries, strawberry smoothies, strawberry blintz, strawberry banana Nutella crepes, chocolate covered strawberries, strawberry donuts, strawberry shakes, strawberry ice cream, chocolate strawberry sundaes, and much more.

Strawberry Festival is a dog-friendly event and dogs are welcome if they are well-behaved and on a leash. There will be water bowl and treats (along with waste bags) located outside the visitor’s center at 308 Old McHenry Road.

The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $5 per person for anyone over 12 years old and can be purchased at the gate or ahead of time. Kids 12 and younger are free.

Parking and Shuttles

Parking is free at all public lots: Stempel Municipal Lot, 360 Historical Lane; Archer lot, 343 Old McHenry Road, and at Kildeer Countryside Elementary School, 3100 Old McHenry Road.

Shuttle bus services run from 12:30 to 11 p.m. on Saturday and from 12:30 to 6 p.m. on Sunday in the Buffalo Grove Old Dominick’s lot/Chase Plaza, 1172 Lake Cook Road. The last shuttle will leave 5 – 10 minutes after the event closes.

Located in the Towner Green – Kids Area. You can sign up at the Red Long Grove Confectionery tent. Contests will be held at 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
