The Champaign Fire Department responded to a working fire at 1605 Henry Street, Saturday, October 19, 2019, at 12:23 a.m. Fire crews quickly extinguished a fire in the living room of the single-story home.

Firefighters responded to a neighbor’s report of smoke coming from the home at 1605 Henry Street. Once on the scene, crews made entry into the home and found a fire in the living room. Firefighters deployed multiple hose lines and extinguished the fire.

The cause of this fire is undetermined as investigators remain on the scene conducting their investigation. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries reported.

The Champaign Fire Department reminds all citizens to maintain a working smoke alarm in their place of residence and to have and practice a home escape plan. Smoke alarms can provide early notification when seconds count.
