City Of Champaign: Adopt A Drain Friday

Heavy summer showers and thunderstorms bring water to our roadways.  This water empties into storm drains, which moves it along to streams and rivers.  When the drains are covered with debris, it takes the water longer to drain.  You can adopt a drain, like this one named LaRusso, and keep it clear to help speed up the drainage process.  LaRusso is located at 1118 W. Daniel Street and is hoping to find a volunteer to keep him clean.  You can sign up to volunteer to clear LaRusso or any other drain in the community through the City’s Adopt A Drain program.  To learn more, visit champaignil.gov/adoptadrain.
