The Community Coalition supported last weekend’s 48 Hours of Peace activities, hosted by the Ministerial Alliance of Champaign-Urbana, with the Interfaith Alliance, Fellowship Baptist District Association, and other faith communities. The weekend began with a Multifaith Anti-Violence Prayer Vigil on June 25, and then featured a Youth Summit at Douglass Park and a block party at Crystal Lake Park in Urbana on June 26. A “Peace Dove” art installation created by students of the DREAAM program was displayed at First Presbyterian Church at the corner of State and Church St. City staff and City Council members joined the community at these events.
