Must-See Concert in the Champaign Area This Month: Smithfield

On-the-rise country duo, Smithfield is set to perform in the Champaign area in Mahomet, IL on the 24th. The two are taking the stage at the 2019 Mahomet Music Festival at 8:00 PM on Saturday, August 24, performing as direct support for headliner Joe Nichols.

Smithfield is a breakout country duo made up of Trey Smith and Jennifer Fielder, and they are bursting onto the country music scene with their latest EP - and personal mantra - We Make Our Own. Growing up in Texas, Jennifer and Trey come from three generations of families in the Lone Star State; it's no secret that Texas runs in their blood. Although the two old friends never planned on working together musically, when they finally did, the chemistry and music were undeniable.

Smithfield’s hit single, “Hey Whiskey” landed top 5 on Sirius XM’s The Highway, garnering over 4.6 million Spotify streams and selling over 60K copies independently. The talented duo recently released their highly anticipated EP, We Make Our Own, a phrase which represents the artists carving their own path to success in country music. Smithfield has garnered over 15 million streams on Spotify and headlined a US tour this spring, and the title track of their EP is currently spinning on Spotify’s official Wild Country playlist.
