5th Seeded Washington Volleyball Team Wins Regional
The 7th grade volleyball team at Washington Junior High won the regional championship despite being a No. 5 seed in the tournament.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL - The Washington Junior High School 7th Grade Volleyball Team defied the odds at their regional tournament, winning the IESA 4A Regional Championship Tuesday night as a No. 5 seed in their bracket.
A parent of one of the players on the team says Washington took down the No. 3 seed Steger Columbia Cardinals in the regional championship game at Coolidge Middle School in Phoenix, Illinois.
Team members are Jaidy Boyo, Adriana Barbosa, Neveah Carbajal, America Atunes, Ciara Campbell, Noraly Marin, Xiomara Marin, Alyssa Velazquez and Martha Mendoza.

The team will continue its postseason run at the Sectional Tournament on March 5.
