700 Illinois ComEd Workers Head Toward East Coast Blizzard

The power line workers will assist with power restoration efforts in Philadelphia and Baltimore as historic storm bears down.


More than 700 ComEd workers and contractors headed east to assist with anticipated widespread power outages Winter Storm Jonas brings 2 to 3 feet of snow and 60 mph winds to some East Coast states. The workers, who departed Friday morning from a ComEd facility in south suburban University Park, make up more than 200 crews, including 156 ComEd utility crews and 50 crews of contracted tree trimmers.
