Blazing Trojans' Locicero Completes Seaon-long Hit Streak
Geena Locicero, a senior member of the Bloom Blazing Trojans softball team, reached base safely in all 24 regular season games this season. Locicero and the rest of the Blazing Trojans will play Thornton on May 20 in the IHSA tournament.
The Bloom Blazing Trojans' recently wrapped up their regular season and with it, one player completed 'the perfect season,' notching a hit in every game. Senior Geena Locicero went 1-for-3, slapping a single in the bottom of the first inning against Crete Monee on May 16.
By reaching base safely in every game this season, Locicero etched her name in the Bloom record books. Locicero also was in the top ten in RBI, batting average and home runs in the area this season.
The Blazing Trojans will play Thornton on Monday, May 20, at Bloom at 4:30 p.m. in the opening round of the Lincoln-Way North Regional, part of the IHSA State Tournament.
