Bloom Girls Track Team Members Qualify for State

Following in the footsteps of their male counterparts on the track, members of the Bloom Blazing Trojans girls track team put on a speed clinic at the recent Homewood-Flossmoor Sectional, sending two individuals and one relay team to the IHSA State Meet. The Blazing Trojans finished in fifth place as a team at the meet.

Qualifying for the state meet were Angela Cates in the High Jump with a leap of 5-feet-3-inches, Ivory Cassell in the Triple-Jump with a jump of 36-feet-half-and-inch and the 4x100-meter relay team.

The twin individuals and the relay team will next compete in the state meet, May 16-18.
