Bloom Senior Awarded Gates Millennium Scholarship
Bloom senior Guadalupe Maria was awarded a Gates Millennium Scholarship for her outstanding work in the classroom and community. The scholarship will fund her education through her master's and doctoral studies at the University of Colorado-Boulder

Bloom senior and class of 2013 salutatorian Guadalupe Maria recently earned the school's first-ever Gates Millennium Scholarship Award, which will pay for her schooling through her master's degree and doctoral studies. Maria plans to attend the University of Colorado-Boulder in the fall of this year.
Maria was one of 1,000 scholarship recipients, out of more than 54,000 students who applied for the award—the most ever in the program's history.
Maria won based on her outstanding work in the classroom, her role as National Honor Society President and her more than 1,500 hours of community service, among other things.
