Bloom Township NJROTC Earns Special Award

After a successful Annual Military Inspect and Pass-In-Review Ceremony, the Bloom NJROTC cadets have been honored with the award.

Bloom Township NJROTC has earned the Distinguished Unit with Honors Award for the 2020-2021 school year.

After a successful Annual Military Inspect and Pass-In-Review Ceremony, the Bloom NJROTC cadets have been honored with the award.

“We are very proud of our cadets and grateful for their parents' support,” said Retired Navy Lieutenant Stacy L. Henderson-Shaw, Senior Naval Science Instructor at Bloom Township High School. “They persevered through the pandemic while continuing to serve Bloom and the community, per CDC and District 206 Guidelines. Master Chief Blaschuk and I are very appreciative of the continued support of NJROTC from the Bloom Community.”

Seventeen cadets received grades of “outstanding” designations on their uniforms, 19 cadets received the Community Service award; 36 Cadets are on the Honor Roll, with 17 achieving High Honor Roll. Nine cadets were promoted in rank; the unit has completed more than 3,100 Community Service hours, and to date, Bloom’s 22 Graduating Cadets have earned more than one million dollars in college scholarships.

In looking ahead, Lt. Henderson says they are still recruiting with nearly 100 cadets enrolled.
