Chicago Heights' 4th Of July Fireworks 2021 Canceled

Chicago Heights' traditional Fourth of July events may be canceled, but there are several other ways you can celebrate Independence Day.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — Although coronavirus cases continue to drop across the country while the number of those who are fully vaccinated continues to rise, many Independence Day celebrations have once again been canceled, modified or will be held virtually due to the pandemic.

Chicago Heights' fireworks, parades and 5K events may have been canceled, but they have been replaced with events in nearby towns like Flossmoor and Tinley Park.

In Flossmoor, the village is hosting its annual Volunteer Fire Department Independence Day Parade on July 3. A parade line will start at 9:30 a.m. in the Parker Junior High School parking lot. It will begin at 10 a.m. and a demonstration of fire department operations will follow in Downtown Flossmoor. See more information here.

Over in Tinley Park, the village is hosting its annual, day-long community celebration that will include a 5k, batting cages, mini golf and of course, fireworks. It will take place again at McCarthy Park this year. See details here.

Last year, Chicago Heights canceled its summer events, including its Spectacular Fireworks display. Maybe these nearby events can be something to check out this year!
