Educators for National Board Certification: Rich Township

District 227 announces 14 teachers on path to obtain their national certification.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — The Rich Township High School District 227 has announced their teachers who have been recognized for a national certification.

The district said they are honored to recognize their teachers who are among an elite group of educators working diligently to obtain their National Board Certification.

"The National Board Resource Center at Illinois State University and the Illinois National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) Comprehensive Support System, and District 227 offer a sincere congratulations to the 14 educators listed below," the district said in a statement.

National Board Certification is achieved through a rigorous, performance-based assessment of a teacher's pedagogical skills and content knowledge. The certification takes one to three years to complete.

Upon completion of the program and assessment the RTHS, teachers will become nationally board-certified teachers. The district said nationally board-certified teachers are special because
completion of the program is obtained by demonstrating advanced teaching knowledge, skills, and practices.

"NBPTS certification will identify our teachers as leaders in their field. We are honored to have these amazing teachers work with our students, as the district is proud of all of its dedicated teachers," the district said.
