Elderly Heights Woman Reports Home Invasion
A woman living on 10th Street was shocked at what she discovered in her living room July 1.

An elderly Chicago Heights resident got quite a scare after checking on a noise last week.
The 76-year-old woman told police she heard a strange noise around 10 p.m. and went to see what it was. She came out of her bedroom to find a man she did not know standing in her living room.
The man grabbed the woman's purse, containing $25 in cash, the woman's state ID and an expired driver's license before running out the door. The man also made off with the keys to the woman's home, according to the report.

After finding the screen on the front door had been damaged, the woman told police she was sure the noise she heard was the man cutting the screen to get in.
The woman told police she had just turned the lights off when the invasion occurred, so she was unable to provide a detailed description of the man.
