Flooding Closes Ford Heights Schools
Several streets in Ford Heights are flooded, resulting in no school for some students on Wednesday.

FORD HEIGHTS, IL - Three schools were closed Wednesday in Ford Heights after serious floods made many streets impassible. Many people could not get in and out of their homes Wednesday morning after the village totaled more than 3.5 inches of rain in recent days, according to a report from CBS-Chicago.
At least eight streets near Deer Creek, which flows through the heart of the southeast suburb, flooded after a combination of heavy rainfall and melting snow. Cottage Grove School, Medgar Evers School and Tidye A. Phillips School were closed as a result of the floods. RELATED: Water Pours Into Homewood Family's Home
Ford Heights Mayor Annie Coulter said the flooding is the worst the village has seen in at least 18 years.
