CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL - For those waiting to the last minute for their cooking needs, some of the grocery stores in the Chicago Heights area will be open on Thanksgiving while others will not. We've compiled below a partial list of holiday hours, showing what's open and what's closed for local grocery stores in the area.

Open:

Chicago Heights Fresh Market, 1657 Chicago Road, Chicago Heights: Thanksgiving 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Country Squire Food Market, 113 W. Joe Orr Road, Chicago Heights: Open on Thanksgiving from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Bizios Fresh Market, 3446-50 Vollmer Road, Olympia Fields - 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving.

La Rosita, 188 22nd St., Chicago Heights: Will open at 8 a.m.on Thanksgiving.

Closed:

Sunrise Health Foods, 3203 Vollmer Road, Flossmoor - Closed on Thanksgiving. Open Wednesday and Friday.

Dunning's Gourmet Market & Deli, 1050 Sterling Ave., Flossmoor - Closed Thanksgiving, Open Wed. and Fri.

Walt's Food Center, 2345 183rd St., Homewood - Closed on Thanksgiving.

Looking to shop at chain stores? Here are the hours for grocery stores with multiple Illinois locations that will be open on Thanksgiving

  • Jewel-Osco: All stores open until 4 p.m.
  • The Fresh Market: All stores open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Target: All stores open 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.
  • Mariano's: Stores will open at their usual time and close at 5 p.m.; stores will be open for their usual operating hours on Black Friday.
  • Meijer: Open 24 hours, special Thanksgiving and Black Friday deals start at 6 a.m. each day.
  • Walmart: Open usual hours for grocery shoppers on Thanksgiving. Black Friday deals start at 4 p.m.
  • Whole Foods: Hours vary by store. Most suburban locations are open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., although some open at 7 a.m.

These grocery stores will not be open on Thanksgiving in Illinois:

  • Aldi
  • Costco
  • Sam's Club
  • Trader Joe's
