Homewood Heights All-Stars Take Second At State
It's only its second year, but Homewood Heights Little League All-Stars rose to the top and took second at the state championship games.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — Homewood Heights Little League’s 9, 10 & 11 year old All-Star team took second at state, losing to 6 to 2 against Hinsdale in last week's championship game.
Homewood Height’s player Santino Pilotto also was named MVP.
This marks the second championship tournament the fledgling team has played. Last year, the sluggers took the District and Sub State, and came out fourth at the state finals.

Coach Brian Andreatta said the momentum is just beginning, and his vision for next season is to sweep state, advance to the regional tournament, and compete in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
"Keep an eye on this youth baseball and softball program, they’re doing big things," he said in a statement.

The tournament took place in LaSalle, IL, from July 27 to August 3. Many of the families commuted to LaSalle every day so their children could play in the games.
