CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — Homewood Heights Little League’s All-Star team for nine-, 10- and 11-year-olds will compete in the state championships next week.

The young sluggers hit the road for LaSalle, Ill., Friday and will be at the tournament through August 3.

They earned a spot in the state bracket by winning both the Sub State tournament in River Forest, Ill., and the District 6 tournament in Chicago Heights earlier this month.

The manager of the team, Brian Andreatta, and staff led the players through competitive games, including defeating the Ridge Beverly Celtics — a team that had eliminated Homewood Heights last season in the state tournament. Homewood Heights is ranked in the top eight in the state out of a field of more than 130 teams.

Homewood Heights Baseball & Softball was founded in late 2017 and has grown by offering logical and meaningful programs to the area with varying channels for players to play baseball and softball. For more information about the programs, camps, or training, visit the club's website.
