IDOT Warns of Palos Road Closures
Sections of Harlem Ave., 127th St., and 119th St., will be closed or restricted through November.

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced that daily lane closures are scheduled to take place starting next week at various locations in Palos Heights for sidewalk, curb and gutter construction, as well as traffic signal improvements.
Closures will occur at the following locations and dates:

- Harlem Avenue (Illinois 43) between 127th Street and 131st Street from Monday, Oct. 5, to Saturday, Oct. 31.
- 127th Street between Ridgeland Avenue and Harlem Avenue from Monday, Oct. 26, to Monday, Nov. 9
- 119th Street (Illinois 83) between 76th Avenue and Harlem Avenue from Monday, Nov. 9, to Monday, Nov. 30.
All of the closures will take place during the daytime hours. No overnight lane closures will be necessary.
This work at these locations will be complete by Nov. 30, however, the overall project will continue into next year and be completed by September 2016.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
