Marian Catholic Head Coach Mike Taylor Wins 300th Game As Spartan
The milestone win for Mike Taylor came Tuesday night when the Spartans defeated Nazareth Academy at home.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — Marian Catholic High School boys basketball Head Coach Mike Taylor won his 300th game leading the Spartans Tuesday night with a 55-37 win over visiting Nazareth Academy. Ahron Ulis had 20 points to lead the host squad in the milestone win for the coach.
The win gives Taylor — now in his 17th season as the Marian Catholic head coach — a 300-194 overall record at the school, Athletic Director Kevin Kelly said. He's 366-244 in his high school head coaching career that includes a few years as the head coach at Hales Franciscan High School in Chicago.
“Hands down, the best X’s and O’s coach I’ve been around," Marian Catholic Public Address Announcer Mike Blais said. "When you pair that with his ability to build relationships with his teams, it naturally leads to this success.”

Taylor's career at Marian Catholic includes seven IHSA regional titles, three IHSA sectional titles, thee East Suburban Catholic Conference titles and six 20-win seasons.
He led the Spartans to a third place finish in the IHSA Class 3A state tournament in 2018 and was named the Daily Southtown Head Coach of the Year that same year.

Taylor is a member of the East Suburban Catholic Conference Hall-of-Fame.
