CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — Diane’s Gaming and Café hosted a grand opening celebration the weekend of July 11-13. The restaurant and gaming center located at 200 Dixie Highway has five gaming machines available for play seven days a week, including slots and video poker. The opening offered complimentary appetizers and soft drinks, along with drawings for a television and cash prizes.

“We were able to meet and introduce the café to a great number of our neighbors,” Marketing Director Chris Carlson said of the opening weekend, which he called a “phenomenal success.”

Diane’s is open Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to midnight and Sunday from noon to midnight. The regular menu consists of beer, wine, coffee and tea, plus food from nearby Bergstein’s NY Delicatessen.

“We hope that Chicago Heights and other local residents come for an enjoyable and comfortable experience on the newest gaming machines,” Carlson said, adding that Diane’s will also appeal to non-gamblers. “For those who don’t play games of chance, they may decide to come in to read the newspaper, for a variety of good food choices, or to watch one of our three big-screen TVs in a relaxing environment.”

Senate Bill 690, which recently passed through the Illinois Senate, will increase the maximum number of video gaming machines per licensed gaming location from five to six. Carlson said Diane’s has plans to add a sixth machine when permitted.
