CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — The South Suburban Humane Society in Chicago Heights remains an ideal place to adopt a pet. Among the dogs and cats available for adoption at the shelter at 1103 West End Ave. is Macy, the pet of the week.

According to the society, Macy is a 5-year-old pittie mix looking for her forever home. What does that home look like you might ask? Well, ideally her foster family would love to find a home with someone who stays home a lot because Macy doesn't enjoy being left alone. A house with a few laps to lay in, with kids that are very respectful of her and maybe even another dog that is mellow that would enjoy walks and cuddles with her. Macy gets along very well with the resident dog in her foster home, but doesn't particularly enjoy meeting new friends on walks. She enjoys kong toys filled with peanut butter and sometimes enjoys chasing a tennis ball.

Macy's foster mom describes her as super sweet, incredibly loving, very affectionate, curious, independent thinker and protective. Macy is always looking for a lap to cuddle in, loves to give kisses and loves to lean into you, always sniffing around checking everything out. She has a few medical conditions that are currently being managed and that doesn't stop her from living and loving life.
