Pet Of The Week At South Suburban Humane Society: PorkChop

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — For those looking to adopt a pet, a great place to look for your new family member is at the South Suburban Humane Society. This week's 'Adoptable Pet' is PorkChop, who is available for adoption at the humane society.

The society said PorkChop has been with them for awhile at their Chicago Heights location (1103 West End Ave.)

Hello, hello! I am Porkchop! Let me tell you what - I love people!! I really enjoy being with people and I want to be with you as much as possible. I like going for walks and I like snuggling on the couch. If you are looking for a best buddy, then I am your girl. I am also petite for a pit bull terrier mix, so I am travel size to come along with you!

I have been waiting for my forever family for a while, and that's mainly because even though I love people, I do not like other dogs nor can I live with cats. I am not interested in having other four legged creatures around because really, I just want to be your one-and-only.

I can get nervous in storms or around loud noises. If you have treats, I like to work on training. I tend to pull on my leash, so I want to work on polite leash walking with you. I LOVE to chew, so please have lots of chew toys for me!! I just cannot wait to meet you. When are you coming to get me?

The society is open from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, from 1-7 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and it is closed on Tuesdays.
