Police Blotter: Usher Talk Leads to Phone Theft

Chicago Heights police reports, July 11-12.

THURSDAY, JULY 12

Coin Thieves

An employee of Namco Entertainment in Chicago Heights told police sometime between June 15 and July 12 someone opened the coin holders to five arcade games at Marcus Cinema and stole more than $640 in quarters. The manager at Marcus told police he would observed security camera footage and notify police is he saw the incident.

Usher Talk and Phone Theft

A 20-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police she was arguing with her boyfriend about the singer Usher and his music when he became angry, grabbed her two cell phones and fled her home. The woman told police she can not spell her boyfriend's name and is not sure what his address is. Police searched the area for the man, but did not find him, according to the report.

Attacked on the Lawn

A 49-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police she was standing on the front lawn of her Donovan Drive apartment building when a 40-year-old woman walked up to her and punched her several times in the face with a closed fist. The victim had a red mark under her eye but refused medical attention, police said. The attacker, who lives in the same apartment building, fled in an unknown direction, according to the report.

Battery

Josiah Green, 24, of the 16000 block of Homan Avenue in Matteson, was arrested and charged with domestic battery after a 22-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police Green punched her in the face twice during an argument. Green told the woman "I'm gonna kill you when I get out of jail," according to the police report. The woman had no injuries and refused medical attention, police said.
