Rail Work Closes Western Avenue In Park Forest
Commuters who use Western Avenue near 26th Street in Park Forest should plan another route for the next week.

PARK FOREST, IL - South suburban commuters who rely on Western Avenue may have to plan a different route for the remainder of the week. A railroad construction project will close a part of the thoroughfare in Park Forest, police in the city said.
Construction began on Monday at the crossing on Western just north of 26th Street. Police are urging motorists to take 26th Street east to Chicago Road as a detour.
The closure is expected to last a week, according to police.
