CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — RelaDyne, a national leader in lubricant sales and distribution, is opening a new distribution center in Chicago Heights. It's at the former Sherwin Williams paint facility at 290 E. Joe Orr Road on the east side of the city, according to a news release. The opening, which is set for later this month, will bring a total of 50 new jobs to the Heights, 40 full-time ones and 10 part-time.

“The revitalization of the Sherwin Williams building by RelaDyne to be a key lubricantdistribution center in Illinois that will create 50 new jobs represents the best of public-private partnership initiatives,” Chicago Heights Mayor David Gonzalez said. “The new RelaDyne facility also reflects my administration’s long-term strategy to create a light manufacturing and light-industry renaissance in Chicago Heights, and we are accomplishing that.”

The project to rehabilitate the Sherwin Williams property began in March and cost $3 million. According to the city, that included a $1.5 million TIF investment from Chicago Heights.
