Rep. Kelly's 7th Annual Hiring Event Set For October
The hiring event and jobs boot camp are open to residents in the district that covers a wide swath from Kankakee to Chicago.
CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — The 7th Annual Hiring Event for residents of the 2nd Congressional District will be held Friday, Oct. 4, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Lan-Oak Park District, 2550 178th St., Lansing. More than 50 employers with active job openings will be in attendance.
Companies participating this year include FedEx Ground, Metra Rail, U.S. Courts, Franciscan Health, Illinois Tollway and Pace Suburban Bus. The event is sponsored by Congresswoman Robin Kelly.
Before the fair, Rep. Kelly also will sponsor a free Job Readiness Bootcamp. That will be held Monday, Sept. 30, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., in the Community Room of the Calumet City Public Library at 660 S. Manistee Avenue, Calumet City.

Instructors from the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership will teach job-seekers interview skills and how to prepare a resume.
Job-seekers can visit www.reprobinkelly.eventbrite.com to register for the Hiring Event and/or the Job Readiness Workshop. Registration before the event is strongly encouraged.
