'Suspicious Vehicle' Call Was In Reference To Park Forest Cop Car
"(The officer) laughed. Dispatch laughed. And everyone was happy," Park Forest police said while describing the call on Facebook.
PARK FOREST, IL — A call to police about a "suspicious vehicle" parked at an apartment complex in Park Forest turned out to be a squad car. Park Forest police shared details on the odd incident reported Thursday night on their social media channels.
"The vehicle was parked for about 15 minutes with the engine running and the lights off," police wrote. "An officer, using his honed investigative skills, immediately realized that his squad was in fact the suspicious vehicle. He was at the complex performing a routine premise check.
"He laughed. Dispatch laughed. And everyone was happy. No one was mad or felt like their time was wasted."

Police used the somewhat humorous incident to remind residents that they urge them to call about suspicious activity. The non-emergency number in Park Forest is 708-748-4701.
"We don’t care if the suspicious activity turns out to be totally innocent, we’ll check it out just to be safe."
