Temporary DMV Facility Opens At Prairie State College

The decision to open a temporary facility comes as the regular Chicago Heights facility will not open again until later this summer.

"[We] worked with Prairie State College, and the Secretary of State for an immediate solution to this glaring lack of service to the Greater Chicago Heights community," Joyce said.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — A temporary driver's facility will open at Prairie State College in Chicago Heights Thursday, after elected officials say the construction of the Chicago Heights Secretary of State's facility will further delay its opening.

Senator Patrick Joyce and Representative Anthony DeLuca worked in conjunction to make the effort happen. The officials say to the Chicago Heights community, "you deserve better."

"[We] worked with Prairie State College, and the Secretary of State for an immediate solution to this glaring lack of service to the Greater Chicago Heights community," Joyce said. "The facility on 209th will reopen this summer, but this community needs a solution now."
