Thorn Creek Basin Sanitary District Strike Ends
Members of the Teamster Local 705 and officials at the Thorn Creek Basin Sanitary District reached a contract agreement through 2015 on Wednesday, April 24. Local 705 members were on strike for the past seven weeks.

For nearly two months teamster members at the Thorn Creek Basin Sanitary District were at a standstill over employee health care contributions. After seven weeks, the two sides finally reached an agreement Wednesday, April 24, and the members will return to work Friday, April 26.
“The strike is over, we're going back to work Friday, said Rick Rohe, a representative for the teamsters. “We're voting on it next week, but it's a good agreement between the company and the union.
The two sides were able to come to an agreement after members agreed to a pay hike, but also to pay more toward health care costs. The new contract will last until 2015, Rohe said.
