'Vagina Monologues' Show Planned At Prairie State
Prairie State College will host a performance of "The Vagina Monologues" on Feb. 9.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL - An upcoming performance of the famed "Vagina Monologues" show is planned for the Barnes and Noble Theatre at Prairie State College. The show, set to begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, is part of the worldwide V-Day campaign that raises awareness to the mission of ending violence against women. A portion of the proceeds from the show will be donated to the South Suburban Family Shelter.
According to a news release, The Vagina Monologues show dives into the mystery, humor, pain, power, wisdom, outrage and excitement buried in women’s experiences. The Prairie State performance will be directed by Marie Goulet of Homewood.
It will feature women from throughout the Chicago Southland who work as nurses, mental health care providers, teachers, social service providers, stay at home moms, actresses, bartenders and writers.

Goulet has acted and directed several other Vagina Monologue shows, including one at Governors State University two years ago.
Tickets are $20 cash at the door.
