Suburban B&B From 'Groundhog Day' Sells For $695K

The Woodstock mansion sold on Aug. 31 after several years on the market.

WOODSTOCK, IL - A McHenry County bed and breakfast, which served as the site for "The Cherry Street Inn" in the 1993 film Groundhog Day, has sold after three years on the market. The eight-bedroom home at 344 Fremont Street in Woodstock sold on Aug. 31 for $695,000. The Royal Victorian Manor's last day of business as a B&B in Woodstock was also on Aug. 31, according to the manor's website.

In Groundhog Day, the home served as an Inn in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, where Bill Murray, the star of the movie, wakes each morning at 6 a.m. to the same clock radio playing Sonny and Cher's I Got You Babe. Playing a Pittsburgh weatherman, Murray relives the same day, Groundhog Day, over and over and over again.
