81 Cigarette Cartons Stolen In Darien Store Burglary: Cops
A similar crime happened a year ago at the same retailer, according to a police report.
DARIEN, IL — A man broke into Darien Tobacco, Wine & Liquor, 7516 Cass Ave., and took 81 cartons of cigarettes last week, according to a police report.
A store video showed the man breaking the front window about 5 a.m. Friday, the report said. The loss involving the cigarettes and broken window was $9,195, police said.
Last July, the store was burglarized early in the morning. In that case, video showed three suspects breaking the glass with a brick and removing cartons of cigarettes. The cigarettes were valued at $5,928, and the damage to the door was estimated at $600, police said.
