Children's Bike Decorating Contest Held By Darien Lions Club

There will be awards given for the best girl's bike as well as for the best boy's bike.

DARIEN, IL — The Darien Lions Club will once again hold a Children's Bike Decorating Contest prior to the annual Fourth of July Parade. All kids are welcome to participate, and can bring their decorated bicycles to the parade staging area in the Darien Jewel Osco parking lot by 8:30 a.m. July 4 for judging.

According to the city newsletter, there will be awards given for the best girl's bike as well as for the best boy's bike. All participants will then be allowed to ride the bikes in the parade.

According to the Lions Club, the parade will step off at 9:30 a.m. and will go north on Cass to 71st Street, and then at 71st Street the parade will head east until Clarendon Hills Road. At Clarendon Hills road, the parade will then go south toward the end point at Hinsdale South High School.
